Immune System

The immune system helps our body to defend against infection, bacteria, viruses and diseases. The immune system works effectively most of the time to protect our body from potentially damaging foreign invaders and diseases, it is a network of special cells, tissues, proteins, and organs which is divided into two types Innate immunity and Adaptive immunity.

Innate immunity is the natural protection that we are born with when it detects an infection it acts quickly to try and flush out the infection by producing extra mucus or cranking up the thermostat to blast it with a fever.

Adaptive immunity is a type of protection which we get throughout of our lives to protect us from diseases in the form of vaccinations. It spots the bacteria, viruses, parasites and produces antibodies that are required to destroy them. read more
